Apple’s latest Shuffle ships broken. You can’t use your own earbuds because the controls are built into the earbuds that come with it, and Apple earbuds have poor audio quality and loose fit. Broken.
I remember when I bought my 3rd generation iPod. It came with a dock, headphones, a headphone attachment wire that served as an exercise remote, a belt clip holster, a Firewire/power cable, and a power adapter.
Now iPods just ship with earbuds and a USB cable. You can either always charge via your computer USB or buy a $30 accessory. They don’t even include the foam earbud covers anymore.
It’s sad that Apple lets its need for accessories revenue cheapen the user experience.
